Listening to these eight tracks offers unexpected sensations and emotions.
An ensemble with trumpet and percussion would suggest a music strongly characterised in its rhythmic and dynamic aspects. On the contrary, one finds oneself in front of sounds that are centred and linked in an intense and concentrated whole, in a mix of very contained dynamics. To abuse an oxymoron, we hear a dense rarefaction of sounds that are always different and expressive, inserted in a context of continuous echoes and mutual references that denote a great coherence of intent. Rare melodic fragments and rhythmic suggestions cohabit with quotations of Cagean silences, which maintain an ever-present expressive tension. The radical choice of such a sound landscape does not penalise attention; on the contrary, it is a stimulus to follow the changing colours in the evolution of the musical discourse.
