"Renè uscì dalla valigia, si stiracchiò come si deve e poi si accese un pensiero azzurro. Lo seguì fluttuare nella stanza fino a vederlo diventare gorgo. Allora salì in piedi sulla scrivania, si tuffò a mani giunte ed entrò in se stesso." (Maler)

Giancarlo Di Maria, arrangiatore e compositore, scrive dieci brani per pianoforte solo, ispirandosi a dieci quadri del pittore belga Renè Magritte. I titoli dei brani dall’aria poetica e descrittiva gli vengono suggeriti dall’amico cantautore Maler.

Parte delle composizioni sono volutamente proiettate nel periodo del neoclassicismo musicale (Schopenhauer bambino, Trilogia degli orologi da taschino, Millenarie amicizie, Amanti in blu), altre nel romanticismo (che si ritrova in Labirinto di mare, Il contorsionista nel suo studio, L’intravista), il tutto velato da un tenue sapore Jazz, dal suono e dal missaggio in bianco e nero.

Al pianoforte Giacomo Di Maria, studente al Conservatorio G. B. Martini di Bologna laureato al triennio di pianoforte con 110 e lode in corso di laurea di secondo livello, vincitore di numerosi concorsi nazionali e internazionali, che si destreggia egregiamente nelle esecuzioni con spirito descrittivo e creativo, gusto e ottima tecnica.

Giancarlo Di Maria, arranger and composer, wrote ten pieces for solo piano, inspired by ten paintings by the Belgian painter Renè Magritte. The titles of the pieces, with their poetic and descriptive air, were suggested to him by his friend, the singer-songwriter Maler.

At the piano is Giacomo Di Maria, a student at the G. B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna who graduated from the three-year piano course with 110 cum laude, winner of numerous national and international competitions, and who juggles his performances with descriptive and creative spirit, taste and excellent technique.
